Silence Before a Storm

Title: Silence Before a Storm
Description: Standing at the traffic lights i saw some very dark clouds rolling in from a distance (turned blue in the photograph). Although the sun was still shining there was an ominous silence, the streets were empty and not a single twig or leaf on the trees moved, as if they were meditating for what was about to come .. the silence before a storm.
(View from the intersection Grieglaan, Karel de Grotelaan, Brucknerplein Eindhoven, Netherlands)
UPDATE: A week after painting this i ran into the (now previous) owner of the Potato King (the building on the right) and he told me that after 17 years it was sold on Oct 1 2020. I can still remember when they got there, i’ve always loved their thick fries. Im not sure what will happen to it now but we will miss them and i like how this nostalgic memory and piece of history is now captured in this painting forever 🙂
