Title: Ba suku ba feni ba tjari
Description: My mom’s favorite statue, a Surinamese wood carving.
She keeps dropping it and after gluing it together several times i’ve decided to make a painting of it for her birthday so she can always keep it around 🙂
The name of the statue is ‘Ba suku ba feni ba tjari’, and means ‘If you search, you will find it and then you will have to carry it, so be careful’. Or, ‘whoever burns his hole must sit on the blisters’.
